Great Hall Renovations
House Renovations
This summer, the
House Corporation and donations from generous alumni helped renovate the
Mississippi Theta Chapter house. The floors of the house were
transformed from an old, musty brown finish to a new tiled look that
extends from the Great Hall to the serving room and into the
dormitories. Other additions included new lights, new ceiling fans as
well as new couches. These additions help the chapter house look as
attractive inside as it does outside.
Katrina Relief Efforts
After the devastation caused by
Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, twenty-six neophytes and ten actives
traveled to Camp Coast Care in Pass Christian, Miss, there they assisted
in the relief effort. The camp serves as a local relief center and
provides food, lodging, medicine, clothing and manpower for coast
residents impacted by Hurricane Katrina. It is hard to fully realize the
extent of the devastation caused by Katrina unless you get a chance to
see it firsthand, and without a doubt all the brothers in attendance
were touched and very humbled by the experience.
